And just like that it looks like our title defense lasted a mere 22 days. Last year, in May, I hopped on the South of the 6ix podcast to give a postmortem on the Raptors season after yet another humiliating sweep at the hands of LeBron James. That podcast we recorded in 2018 served as an informal therapy session for myself and host Adam Corsair as we sorted through the devastating and abrupt elimination of the 59-win DeMar DeRozan led Raptors.

Fast forward one year later and we recorded an audio celebration toasting our beloved Raptors as they became NBA champions. At the time of that recording, we remained steadfast in our belief that Kawhi Leonard would return; that the Raptors had done everything possible to recruit him. Leonard maintained all season that his health and winning would be the two most important factors in his free agency decision. It looks like he forgot to mention that playing in Los Angeles trumps those other two factors.

But here we are now. Kawhi has left and we have lots of questions about where the Raptors go from here. Check out my latest visit to the South of the 6ix podcast, hosted by Adam Corsair, as we discuss Kawhi’s decision and what it all means. You are not going to want to miss this episode. Let’s just say that I had a lot to get off my chest!
